Love Our Preemie Mums is aimed at creating emotional support structures for mothers of preterm babies within medical facilities and the home environment; so as to enhance the coping ability and effectiveness of mothers in providing primary care to preterm babies. The activities of this project include the following;
- Creating mothers’ lounges and spaces within hospitals where recreation and training can be carried out
- Training mothers in Kangaroo Care and Baby friendly breast feeding
- Support groups for mothers
- Development and distribution of resources which help families take care of their preterm babies
